Biography

Tommy Flowers was the brilliant Post Office engineer who designed and built Colossus, the world's first programmable electronic computer. Used at Bletchley Park from February 1944, Colossus cracked the Lorenz cipher used by Hitler's high command, providing crucial intelligence for D-Day planning.Flowers funded much of the work from his own savings. After the war, his contribution remained classified for decades.
