Biography
Private Susan Hall joined the Women's Voluntary Service at just 16, helping to run canteens, distribute clothing to bomb-out families, and assist with the evacuation of children from London. During the Blitz, she drove an ambulance through bombed streets despite not being old enough to hold a civilian driving licence. Susan lived in Manchester and was active in veterans' charities until her death at 92.
