Biography

Flight Lieutenant Stanislaw Kozlowski escaped from occupied Poland in 1939, making his way through Romania and France to Britain. He joined the famous No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron and flew Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain, claiming three confirmed kills. He later served with Bomber Command. After the war, unable to return to communist Poland, he settled in Manchester where he worked as a draughtsman and became active in the Polish community.

Флайт-лейтенант Станислав Козловски бежал из оккупированной Польши в 1939 году, пробравшись через Румынию и Францию в Великобританию. Он присоединился к знаменитой 303-й Польской истребительной эскадрилье и летал на Харрикейнах во время Битвы за Британию. Позже служил в Бомбардировочном командовании. После войны, не имея возможности вернуться в коммунистическую Польшу, поселился в Манчестере.
