Biography
Rashid Khan served as an engineering officer with the Madras Sappers in the Burma campaign, building roads and bridges for the advance through the Arakan and across the Irrawaddy. He was wounded during the Battle of Meiktila. After Indian independence, he emigrated to Manchester in 1955 and ran an engineering workshop in Longsight. He was instrumental in establishing the city's first mosque.

Рашид Хан служил офицером-инженером в Мадрасских сапёрах в Бирме, строя дороги и мосты. Был ранен в битве при Мейктиле. После обретения Индией независимости эмигрировал в Манчестер в 1955 году и открыл инженерную мастерскую.
