Biography

Subedar Rajesh Kumar Singh served with the 1st Punjab Regiment in the Burma campaign. A professional soldier from a military family, he led his platoon through the jungle fighting in the Arakan and at the Battle of Imphal. He was killed in action during the siege of Imphal in June 1944. His grandson lives in Manchester and submitted his story.

Субедар Раджеш Кумар Сингх служил в 1-м Пенджабском полку в Бирманской кампании. Профессиональный военный, он возглавлял свой взвод в боях в Аракане и при Импхале. Погиб в июне 1944 года.
