Biography

Private Norman Fletcher served with the Manchester Regiment in the defence of Singapore. He was captured when Singapore fell in February 1942 and became a prisoner of war of the Japanese. He died as a POW working on the Burma-Siam railway in November 1942.

Рядовой Норман Флетчер служил в Манчестерском полку при обороне Сингапура. Он был взят в плен при падении Сингапура в феврале 1942 года и стал военнопленным японцев. Умер в плену, работая на строительстве Бирмано-Сиамской железной дороги в ноябре 1942 года.
