Biography

Corporal Jack "Toper" King served with the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment across North Africa and Italy. He parachuted into Tunisia in 1942 as part of Operation Torch and fought at the Battle of Oudna. In Italy, he took part in the fierce fighting at Primosole Bridge in Sicily and the Battle of Arnhem. A tough, resilient paratrooper, he represented the spirit of Britain's airborne forces who fought in some of the war's most demanding operations.

Капрал Джек «Топер» Кинг служил во 2-м батальоне парашютного полка в Северной Африке и Италии. Он десантировался в Тунис в 1942 году в рамках операции «Торч» и сражался в битве при Удне. В Италии он участвовал в ожесточённых боях у моста Примосоле на Сицилии. Стойкий десантник, он воплощал дух британских воздушно-десантных сил.
