Biography

Sergeant Major Galina Orlova served as a medic with the 39th Guards Rifle Division from 1942 to 1945. She crossed the Dnieper, Vistula, and Oder rivers under fire, evacuating wounded soldiers from the front lines. During the assault on Berlin, she personally carried 23 wounded men to safety from a burning building. Awarded the Order of Glory, 3rd Class. She moved to Manchester with her grandson in 2005.

Старшина Галина Орлова — санинструктор 39-й гвардейской стрелковой дивизии. Форсировала Днепр, Вислу и Одер, вынося раненых. В Берлине спасла 23 раненых из горящего здания. Награждена орденом Славы III степени.
