Biography

Captain Alexei Sokolov served with the 150th Rifle Division — the unit that raised the Soviet flag over the Reichstag in Berlin on 30 April 1945. He fought from Stalingrad to Berlin, surviving three wounds. He was present at the Reichstag when Sergeants Yegorov and Kantaria raised the Banner of Victory. He emigrated to Manchester in 1998.

Капитан Алексей Соколов служил в 150-й стрелковой дивизии — части, водрузившей флаг над Рейхстагом 30 апреля 1945 года. Прошёл путь от Сталинграда до Берлина. Эмигрировал в Манчестер в 1998 году.
