Biography

Havildar Ahmed Khan Pathan served with the Sappers and Miners of the 4th Indian Division, one of the most decorated divisions in the British Indian Army. He fought at the Battles of Keren in Eritrea, El Alamein, and Monte Cassino. His unit cleared minefields and built bridges under fire. After Indian independence he emigrated to Manchester in 1957 where he worked in the textile industry and became a pillar of the local Pakistani community.

Real WWII veterans — British, Commonwealth, Soviet and Allied — held as encyclopaedic summaries: name, rank, unit and a short account of service, in English and Russian. What they lack is provenance, not reality: no cited source, and a photograph on only 10 of 692. Tier LOW (secondary source) records that absence. Added 2026-03-16 to 2026-04-19. On 2026-05-13 all 692 were flagged "formulaic ... functionally placeholder/demo content" and tiered SEED, on a cadence heuristic — one profile per day — without reading the subjects. That reading was wrong. Among them are documented figures including Group Captain Peter Townsend of 85 Squadron RAF, and real actions including the Pegasus Bridge coup de main at 00:16 on 6 June 1944. The characterisation is WITHDRAWN as untrue of real people. Corrected by R0 act, 2026-10-07: tier SEED -> LOW, and custodianship of these records is R0's own. His words: "they are all mine.
