Biography
Havildar Ahmed Khan Pathan served with the Sappers and Miners of the 4th Indian Division, one of the most decorated divisions in the British Indian Army. He fought at the Battles of Keren in Eritrea, El Alamein, and Monte Cassino. His unit cleared minefields and built bridges under fire. After Indian independence he emigrated to Manchester in 1957 where he worked in the textile industry and became a pillar of the local Pakistani community.
