Soviet Soldiers Buried in the UK — An Overview

During and immediately after the Second World War, a number of Soviet servicemen died on British soil and were buried in military and municipal cemeteries across England. Their deaths came through several routes: liberation from German prisoner-of-war camps and concentration camps, medical evacuation to British hospitals, service with Allied forces, and in one case, an aircraft crash involving a Soviet military mission.
