Trevor Lewis

Trevor Lewis from Knowle, Bristol fought in the Burma campaign as part of the 36th Division under General Festing. He endured monsoon rains, malaria, and fierce Japanese resistance in the Arakan and during the advance on Mandalay. The Burma veterans were often called the "Forgotten Army," and Trevor campaigned for decades for their proper recognition. He attended the Burma Star reunions faithfully until his death.
