Biography

Nurken Abdirovich Abdirov, 1919-1942, a Kazakh pilot of the Soviet Air Forces, holding the rank of sergeant. On 19 December 1942 his aircraft took a direct hit to the engine and he flew it into a German tank column. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was conferred on him posthumously on 31 March 1943.
