Biography

Neville James came to Britain from Jamaica in 1941 as part of the Caribbean volunteers who joined the RAF. He trained as an aircraft mechanic at Filton, Bristol, maintaining Beaufighter and Mosquito aircraft. He faced racial prejudice but earned respect through his expertise and dedication. After the war, he stayed in Bristol and became one of the founding members of the St Paul's Caribbean community.
