Biography
Sergeant Maria Sidorova was a teenage partisan fighter who joined the resistance in the Bryansk Forest at age 16 after her village was destroyed by German forces. She served as a courier and later as a demolitions expert, destroying railway lines and bridges to disrupt German supply routes. After the war she studied medicine. She moved to Cardiff in 2010 to live with her daughter.
