Biography
Corporal Dorothy Mary Blake served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service with Anti-Aircraft Command. Based at a mixed battery near Bristol, she operated height-finding equipment during German air raids on the city in 1940-41 during the Bristol Blitz. Though women were not permitted to fire the guns, they performed all other roles in the battery. She was proud of her service until her death in 2016.
