Biography
Alexei Nikolaevich Romanov was drafted at 18 in late 1943 and fought with the 3rd Shock Army during the final push to Berlin. He participated in the crossing of the Oder River and the street fighting in Berlin in April-May 1945. After the war he studied engineering in Novosibirsk and worked in the aerospace industry. He moved to Bristol in 2010 with his grandson and lived to the age of 91.

Алексей Николаевич Романов был призван в 18 лет в конце 1943 года и воевал в составе 3-й ударной армии при финальном наступлении на Берлин. Участвовал в форсировании Одера и уличных боях в Берлине. После войны изучал инженерное дело в Новосибирске и работал в аэрокосмической промышленности. Переехал в Бристоль в 2010 году с внуком.
