Biography

Corporal Winston George Clarke was born in Trinidad and volunteered for the British Army in 1940. He served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in Burma, where he treated wounded soldiers under fire during the Kohima and Imphal campaigns of 1944. After the war, he settled in Brixton, London, where he trained as a nurse at Kings College Hospital. He was a founding member of the Caribbean Ex-Servicemen's Association.

Капрал Уинстон Джордж Кларк родился в Тринидаде и добровольно вступил в британскую армию в 1940 году. Служил в Королевском медицинском корпусе в Бирме, где оказывал помощь раненым под огнём во время кампаний при Кохиме и Импхале в 1944 году.
