Sister Winifred Aldridge served at the Royal South Hants Hospital in Southampton, treating thousands of casualties from D-Day preparations and the city's devastating air raids. She organized emergency triage during the worst bombing nights, working 36-hour shifts to save lives. After D-Day, she helped care for wounded soldiers returning from Normandy through Southampton port.
