Biography
Able Seaman William Corry served aboard the cruiser HMS Belfast — the ship that now sits as a museum on the Thames but was built at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in his home city. William was aboard during the Battle of North Cape in December 1943, when Belfast helped sink the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst. He was also aboard on D-Day, when the ship's guns provided fire support for Juno Beach. William often visited HMS Belfast in London, proudly showing his grandchildren around the ship he had served on.
