Biography
Virginia Hall was an American-born SOE agent who organised French Resistance networks from Lyon. Despite having a prosthetic leg, she evaded the Gestapo repeatedly and was described by Klaus Barbie as "the most dangerous of all Allied spies." She later worked for the CIA and lived in Oxford.
