Biography
Vera Sokolova served as a field nurse with the 65th Army on the Eastern Front. She treated wounded soldiers during the Battle of Stalingrad and the subsequent advance westward through Belarus and Poland. After the war she emigrated to England and settled in Brighton where she worked as a district nurse.
