Biography
Princess Vera Obolenskaya was a Russian emigre who became a key leader in the French Resistance. Known as Vicky, she coordinated intelligence gathering and escape routes for downed Allied airmen. Arrested by the Gestapo in 1943, deported to Germany and executed at Plotzensee prison in August 1944. A Liverpool Russian cultural society registered her story.
