Uzeir Abduramanovich Abduramanov, 1916-1991, a Crimean Tatar sapper of the Red Army. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was conferred on him on 15 January 1944 for securing the crossing of the Sozh under fire, working in icy water. Soon after the award he was deported, as a Crimean Tatar, in the deportation of 1944. He died in 1991.
