Biography
Corporal Trevor Emmanuel, born in Trinidad and raised in Nottingham's St Ann's district, served with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps throughout the Mediterranean theatre. He was responsible for maintaining and repairing weapons and vehicles, work that kept frontline units in action. He served in North Africa, Sicily, and up through Italy, constantly working under difficult conditions to keep equipment operational. After the war, he became one of Nottingham's first Black shop owners, running an electrical repair business on Alfreton Road for over twenty-five years.
