Tatiana Baryshnikova

Tatiana Baryshnikova, a Russian émigré living in London, worked for the BBC Russian Service during the war, broadcasting news and propaganda to the Soviet Union and occupied Eastern Europe. Her broadcasts provided a vital link between the Allied cause and Russian-speaking populations. She also worked with the Political Warfare Executive, writing leaflets dropped over occupied territories. After the war, she continued at the BBC and was awarded an MBE for her services to broadcasting.
