Biography
Havildar Major Gurnam Singh served with the 2nd Punjab Regiment through the Italian campaign, fighting at Cassino and through the Gothic Line. A Sikh from Punjab, he was known for his leadership and bravery under fire. Awarded the Indian Distinguished Service Medal. He settled in Leeds after the war, where he became a prominent figure in the Sikh community.
