Biography
Sean O'Connor enlisted in the Irish Guards in 1940 and served throughout the war in North Africa and Europe. He landed at Normandy on D-Day and fought through France, Belgium, and into Germany. He was part of the advance that liberated the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in April 1945, an experience that haunted him for the rest of his life. After demobilisation he returned to Belfast and worked at the Harland and Wolff shipyard. He was a quiet man who marched every Remembrance Sunday without fail.

Шон О'Коннор вступил в Ирландскую гвардию в 1940 году и служил на протяжении всей войны в Северной Африке и Европе. Он высадился в Нормандии в День «Д» и сражался через Францию, Бельгию и Германию.
