Biography
Lance Corporal Sean Michael O'Connor from Belfast joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1939. He served throughout the North Africa campaign and fought at the Battle of Monte Cassino in Italy in early 1944. He was killed during the fourth and final assault on the monastery in May 1944. His bravery at Cassino earned him a posthumous Military Medal.
