Biography
Flying Officer Seamus O'Hara from Belfast was a navigator aboard Consolidated Liberator aircraft with 120 Squadron, RAF Coastal Command. Based in Northern Ireland, the squadron played a vital role in closing the "Atlantic Gap" — the mid-ocean area beyond the range of land-based aircraft where U-boats had operated with impunity. Seamus was killed in March 1944 when his aircraft was lost during a patrol over the Atlantic. His sacrifice helped protect countless merchant convoys.

Лётный офицер Шеймус О'Хара из Белфаста был штурманом на самолёте «Либерейтор» 120-й эскадрильи берегового командования RAF. Базируясь в Северной Ирландии, эскадрилья играла важнейшую роль в закрытии «Атлантической бреши» — зоны в середине океана, где подводные лодки действовали безнаказанно. Шеймус погиб в марте 1944 года, когда его самолёт был потерян во время патрулирования над Атлантикой.
