Biography

Rosa Goldberg fled Nazi Germany with her family in 1938 and settled in London. Her fluency in German, French and English made her invaluable to the war effort. She was recruited to Bletchley Park in 1941 where she worked on translating intercepted communications. Her contribution remained classified for decades. She was awarded an MBE in 1995 when the work of Bletchley Park was finally recognized. She lived in Golders Green until her death in 2003.
