Biography
Pyotr Grigorievich Kovalenko served as a staff officer on the 2nd Belorussian Front. He helped plan Operation Bagration, the massive Soviet offensive that liberated Belarus in 1944, and continued through the East Prussian campaign. His planning work contributed to the encirclement and capture of Konigsberg. After the war he taught at the Frunze Military Academy. He moved to Birmingham in 1985.

Пётр Григорьевич Коваленко служил штабным офицером 2-го Белорусского фронта. Участвовал в планировании операции «Багратион» — масштабного наступления, освободившего Беларусь в 1944 году. После войны преподавал в Военной академии имени Фрунзе. Переехал в Бирмингем в 1985 году.
