Biography
Piotr Vasiliev was a Russian-born Pole who fought with the 1st Polish Armoured Division under British command. He took part in the Battle of the Falaise Gap and the liberation of Breda in the Netherlands. After the war, unable to return to Soviet-controlled Poland, he settled in Oxford where he worked as a bookbinder at the Bodleian Library, quietly preserving another kind of heritage.

Пётр Васильев — русский по рождению поляк, воевавший в 1-й Польской бронетанковой дивизии. Участвовал в битве при Фалезском котле и освобождении Бреды. После войны поселился в Оксфорде, где работал переплётчиком в Бодлианской библиотеке.
