Biography
Colonel Pavel Chernyshev commanded a tank battalion in the 5th Guards Tank Corps during the Battle of Kursk. His unit fought in the epic tank engagement at Prokhorovka, where over 1,200 tanks clashed in the largest tank battle in history. Pavel was decorated for destroying four German tanks in a single engagement. He moved to Nottingham in the 1980s to join his son who had emigrated earlier.

Полковник Павел Чернышев командовал танковым батальоном 5-го гвардейского танкового корпуса в Курской битве. Уничтожил четыре немецких танка в одном бою. Переехал в Ноттингем в 1980-х годах.
