Biography
Chief Petty Officer Owen Griffith Jones from Swansea served aboard escort destroyers protecting Atlantic convoys throughout the war. He survived the sinking of two ships and was rescued from the sea twice. He was killed when his third ship, HMS Goodall, was torpedoed by a U-boat in April 1945 — one of the last Royal Navy vessels lost in the war.
