Biography
Oleg Fedorovich Tkachenko was a fighter pilot who flew the Yak-3 and La-5 aircraft. He achieved 11 confirmed aerial victories during the war. He participated in the aerial battles over Kursk, which saw the largest air engagements of the war. Known among his comrades for his exceptional eyesight and calm under fire. After the war he became a test pilot at the Zhukovsky Flight Test Centre. He emigrated to Glasgow in 1995.

Олег Фёдорович Ткаченко был лётчиком-истребителем, летавшим на Як-3 и Ла-5. За войну он одержал 11 подтверждённых воздушных побед. Участвовал в воздушных сражениях над Курской дугой. Был известен среди товарищей исключительным зрением и хладнокровием в бою. После войны стал лётчиком-испытателем в ЛИИ имени Жуковского. Эмигрировал в Глазго в 1995 году.
