Biography
Guards Private Oleg Dementiev served with the 150th Rifle Division that stormed the Reichstag in Berlin on 30 April 1945. Though he was not among the small group that raised the famous Victory Banner, he was in the building during the fierce room-by-room fighting. Oleg kept a fragment of stone from the Reichstag as a memento. He settled in Nottingham in the late 1990s and participated in every local Victory Day ceremony until his death.

Гвардии рядовой Олег Дементьев служил в 150-й стрелковой дивизии, штурмовавшей Рейхстаг 30 апреля 1945 года. Участвовал в рукопашных боях в здании. Хранил осколок камня из Рейхстага. Жил в Ноттингеме.
