Biography
Junior Lieutenant Nina Sorokina flew with the famous 588th Night Bomber Regiment — the "Night Witches." Flying obsolete Po-2 biplanes on night bombing raids against German positions, she completed over 400 combat sorties. After the war, she studied medicine in Leningrad and later emigrated to Scotland, where she worked as a GP in Edinburgh until her retirement.

Младший лейтенант Нина Сорокина летала в составе знаменитого 588-го ночного бомбардировочного полка — «Ночных ведьм». Совершая ночные бомбардировочные вылеты на устаревших бипланах По-2, она выполнила более 400 боевых вылетов. После войны училась медицине в Ленинграде, а затем эмигрировала в Шотландию, где работала врачом общей практики в Эдинбурге до выхода на пенсию.
