Biography

Nikolai Fedorov was a Soviet soldier who fought from Moscow to Berlin. Born in Smolensk, he was mobilised in June 1941 and assigned to the 3rd Shock Army. He participated in the defence of Moscow in the winter of 1941–42 and was awarded the Medal for the Defence of Moscow. Fedorov fought through the Rzhev battles, the liberation of Belarus in Operation Bagration, and the final assault on Berlin in April 1945. After the war, he married an Englishwoman he met during the Allied celebrations in Berlin and eventually settled in Liverpool in 1960.

Николай Фёдоров — советский солдат, прошедший путь от Москвы до Берлина. Родился в Смоленске, мобилизован в июне 1941 года. Участвовал в обороне Москвы, боях за Ржев, операции «Багратион» и штурме Берлина.
