Biography
Captain Nikolai Belov served with the Soviet Pacific Fleet and participated in the brief but intense Soviet-Japanese War in August 1945. His ship supported the amphibious landings in Manchuria and the Kuril Islands, operations which helped bring the war in the Pacific to a rapid end. After the war, Nikolai worked in the Soviet merchant fleet and eventually settled in Southampton in the 1980s.

Капитан Николай Белов служил в Тихоокеанском флоте и участвовал в советско-японской войне в августе 1945 года. Поддерживал десанты в Маньчжурии и на Курилах. Поселился в Саутгемптоне.
