Biography
Sergeant Nancy Wright served in the WAAF as a plotter at RAF Watnall, the Fighter Command sector station that controlled the defence of the East Midlands. She tracked incoming enemy raids on the plotting table, directing fighter aircraft to intercept. Her calm under pressure earned her the British Empire Medal.
