Biography
Nadia Petrova was 15 when the Siege of Leningrad began. She served with civil defence, putting out incendiary bombs, distributing rations, and caring for the sick. She survived all 872 days, losing most of her family to starvation. Emigrated to London in the 1990s and spent her final years sharing siege testimony with schools.
