Morag Stewart

Corporal Morag Stewart served as a radar operator with the WAAF at a Chain Home station on the Scottish coast. She tracked incoming enemy aircraft and relayed vital information to Fighter Command operations rooms. During the height of the Luftwaffe's attacks, Morag and her colleagues worked long shifts in exposed radar stations that were themselves targets. After the war, she returned to Edinburgh and worked in telecommunications, bringing her wartime technical skills to peacetime use.
