Biography

Megan Lloyd from the Vale of Glamorgan served in the Women's Land Army from 1941 to 1945, working on farms across South Wales to maintain food production while men were away fighting. She drove tractors, milked cows, harvested crops, and cleared ditches in all weathers. The Land Girls produced millions of tonnes of food that kept Britain fed during the U-boat blockade. After the war, Land Girls were initially denied veteran status — a injustice not rectified until 2008. A Cardiff women's heritage group registered her story.
