Biography

Mary Fraser was a WAAF officer posted to Bletchley Park where she worked in Hut 8, the section responsible for breaking Naval Enigma traffic. She operated Bombe machines — the electromechanical devices designed to crack Enigma settings. She kept the secret of her wartime work for over thirty years, only telling her family after the publication of books about Ultra in the 1970s.
