Biography
Junior Lieutenant Lydia Novikova was one of over 2,000 female snipers who served in the Red Army. She fought at Stalingrad where she was credited with 36 confirmed kills. Lydia was wounded at the Battle of Kursk but returned to service and fought until the end of the war. She was awarded the Medal for Courage. She emigrated to Glasgow in 2001.
