Biography
Lieutenant Commander Leonard Marsh commanded a corvette in the Battle of the Atlantic, escorting convoys through U-boat-infested waters. An Oxford history tutor before the war, he sank one U-boat and assisted in the rescue of hundreds of merchant seamen from torpedoed ships.
