Biography
Lieutenant Leonard Cartwright led a platoon of the South Staffordshire Regiment at the Battle of Anzio. A BSA factory worker from Small Heath before the war, he was commissioned from the ranks for bravery. Killed in action during the breakout from the Anzio beachhead in May 1944.

Лейтенант Леонард Картрайт командовал взводом Южно-Стаффордширского полка в битве при Анцио. До войны работал на заводе BSA в Смолл-Хит, был произведён из рядовых в офицеры за храбрость. Погиб в бою во время прорыва с плацдарма Анцио в мае 1944 года.
