Biography
Sergeant Kwame Asante was born in the Gold Coast (modern Ghana) and volunteered for the RAF in 1941. He trained as a wireless operator and air gunner and served in the Burma campaign, flying missions against Japanese positions in the jungle. After the war, Kwame settled in Liverpool, part of a small community of West African veterans who had fought for the British Empire. He worked as a radio engineer and was active in the local veterans' association.

Сержант Кваме Асанте родился в Золотом Береге (современная Гана) и добровольно вступил в RAF в 1941 году. Он обучился на радиста и воздушного стрелка и участвовал в бирманской кампании, совершая вылеты против японских позиций. После войны Кваме поселился в Ливерпуле, став частью небольшого сообщества западноафриканских ветеранов, сражавшихся за Британскую империю. Он работал радиоинженером и был активным членом местной ветеранской ассоциации.
