Biography
Kazimierz Nowak escaped occupied Poland in 1940 via Romania and France, eventually reaching Britain where he joined the 1st Polish Armoured Division. He fought in Normandy and through the liberation of the Netherlands, taking part in the Battle of the Falaise Pocket. After the war, unable to return to communist Poland, Kazimierz settled in Brighton where he ran a small watchmaking shop. He was deeply involved in the Polish community and attended memorial services at the Polish War Memorial in London every year.

Казимеж Новак бежал из оккупированной Польши в 1940 году через Румынию и Францию, в итоге добравшись до Британии, где вступил в 1-ю Польскую бронетанковую дивизию. Он воевал в Нормандии и участвовал в освобождении Нидерландов. После войны, не имея возможности вернуться в коммунистическую Польшу, поселился в Брайтоне.
